Crystal Quest Countertop Hybrid Water Cooler
The Crystal Quest countertop hybrid water cooler uses four filter cartridges for a total of 9 stages of filtration:
Stage 1: A sediment filter that removes 99.99% of cysts like crypto sporidium and guardia, along with cloudiness, bad taste or smell caused by fine microscopic particles and sediment.
Stage 2: A granular activated carbon (GAC) filter that removes chlorine and chemical contaminants which often give water a bad taste or odor. This stage filters a wide variety of organic chemicals like THMs, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, VOCs, PCBs, and MTBEs.
Stage 3: A 1 micron filter pad (1/25,000th of an inch), which removes suspended particles such as silt, sediment, sand, rust, and dirt.
Stage 4 & 5: Are KDF-55 and KDF-85. KDF is a mixture of copper and zinc that creates an oxidation-reduction (REDOX) reaction to purify water.
Stage 6: This stage adds ceramic filtration.
Stage 7: A second stage of granulated activated carbon to filter any chemicals that survived the first stage.
Stage 8: A 1 micron filter pad (1/25,000th of an inch), which removes suspended particles such as silt, sediment, sand, rust, and dirt.
Stage 9: An UltraFiltration membrane that filters out contaminants larger than 0.01 microns in size, which includes colloids, proteins, bacteria, parasites, protozoa and many other contaminants
