Remove Nitrates from your Drinking Water

Nitrates are a chemical found in most fertilizers, in manure, and in the liquid waste discharged from septic tanks.
When people eat or drink nitrates, it enters the blood stream and reduces the red blood cells ability to carry oxygen. In most adults and children, the red blood cells quickly return to normal.
Nitrates are more dangerous for infants because their red blood cells can take much longer to return to normal.
Infants given high levels of nitrates can develop a life threatening condition called "blue baby syndrome" or methemoglobinemia.
