Water Purification is more than just Filtration
Water purification systems are designed to remove bacteria and cysts from water so you don't get sick from drinking it.
A purifier is critical if your drinking water comes from a river, lake, well, or other untreated source.
These purifiers exceed the requirements for a water filter used to remove bad taste, odor, or chemical contaminants from treated municipal water.
Many of these LivingWaters purification units include redundant bacterial removal or neutralization mechanisms to insure the safest drinking water possible.
Water Purification Cartridges
If you already have a water filter that uses standard 10" OBE (open both ends) replacement cartridges, you can upgrade to this advanced water purification technology by simply changing your cartridges.
About our LivingWaters Water Purifiers
LivingWaters systems use multiple technologies to purify your drinking water. These water purifiers use the following methods:
- Doultion Sterasyl ® Ceramic, which kills bacteria using silver and removes cysts
- KDF-55 ®, which kills bacteria through redox reactions
- Ster-O-Tap ® Ultra Filtration media, which removes bacteria through membrane filtration
The order of the technologies is key, as each is complementary when ordered correctly.
For example, KDF eliminates any concern of silver entering the purified water from the Doulton cartridge (not a real concern anyway), since KDF removes metals and comes after the ceramic element.
Also, KDF not only kills bacteria, but KDF treated water kills bacteria, which protects the carbon block filter in the Ster-O-Tap cartridge from bacterial growth.
It's an elegant design that only a geek could fully appreciate.
