What does the AQ-4000 Filter from Your Water?
The Aquasana AQ-4000 Water Filter uses two cartridges to provide multiple stages of filtration:
- Reduces cloudiness, bad taste or smell caused by fine microscopic particles known as sediment
- Removes chlorine, which is typically the most concentrated chemical in our municipal water
- Reduces lead using an ion exchange process, which leaves potassium, a required mineral with a natural spring water taste, in your drinking water.
- Filters out synthetic chemicals like herbicides, pesticides, and solvents.
- Filters cryptosporidium and giardia, common chlorine resistant microscopic organisms using a 0.5 micron mechanical filter
- See the complete list in the Performance Data Sheet.
What Other Features are Important?
- Natural, healthy trace minerals remain in your drinking water.
- Costs less than 10¢ per gallon of purified water.
- Filters up to 30 gallons of water per hour.
- Outputs filtered water at the tap to avoid counter top spills.
How Does the No Spill Design Work?
For normal use of the kitchen sink, water flows through the large aerator (top one in picture to the right).
When the knob on the large aerator is pulled (right side of picture to the right), water is diverted out one hose, through the filter, and back through the other hose.
This diverted water which passed through the filter comes out through the small aerator (bottom one in the picture to the right).
You can see a front view of the diverter valves and aerators, along with the hoses to the right.
The diverter valve is simply installed on your kitchen faucet in place of the existing aerator.
The hoses are simply attached to the filter housing so the diverted water flows through the filter, then back to the small aerator for your use.
Can I install the AQ-4000 Myself?
Yes, you can install the AQ-4000 and have a drink of purified water in about 5 minutes.
- Remove the aerator from your kitchen faucet
- Attach the faucet diverter valve to your kitchen faucet
