Countertop Filters: Safe Water at Your Tap

What's in your water?
Safe & Tasty Water.

A countertop water filter is very easy to install, but still makes your tap water taste great and safer to drink.

Countertop water filters come with a diverter valve that attaches to your faucet. You just install the diverter valve in place of the faucet aerator and you're ready to filter tap water on demand.

All of our countertop systems filter chlorine and chlorine by-products, cysts, lead, volatile organic chemicals (VOC's) and over a hundred other substances from your tap water.

While removing the bad stuff, they leave healthy, great tasting minerals like calcium, potassium and magnesium in your water.

These filters also remove algae by-products and other sources of bad taste or odor sometimes found in municipal water.

If you usually drink bottled water, a counter top water filter will also save you money. In fact, the Aquasana countertop water filter includes a free glass decanter so you can bottle your own water for a few cents per gallon.

Countertop Filters Need a Standard Aerator

Countertop water filters get water from your kitchen faucet by replacing the standard aerator (the part where the water comes out of the screen), with a diverter valve. The valve can be set to deliver water to the sink for washing dishes, or to divert water through the filter for drinking.

If you have one of those pull-out vegetable sprayer faucets, a countertop water filter won't fit. You'll need to look at under sink water filters as an alternative.

Countertop Filters Dispense Water at Filter or Sink

There are two countertop filter designs on the market. One design outputs water at the filter housing, the other at the kitchen faucet. This may be a consideration in your choice of water filter.

The AQUASANA design delivers water just behind the existing sink faucet diverter. The advantage of this feature is to avoid spills and place the water output at the valve that controls water flow.

LivingWaters outputs water at the filter housing.

The LivingWaters design delivers water from a special purpose faucet attached to the countertop housing. The advantage of this design is it allows you to get water easily, even when the sink is full of dirty dishes.
