In the Sprite PureSpray, when using the SLC cartridge, the flat side of the cartridge faces towards the shower (i.e., towards you when you are taking a shower).

The PureSpray also works with the ARC cartridge, which is flat on both sides. The ARC fits in either direction, so you can reverse it to backflush the filter.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kelly,

You can put the filter in either direction originally. Shower filters that can be back flushed usually have a reversible cartridge.

The key is to reverse the direction once a month after the initial installation so the water runs through in the opposite direction from month to month.

Hi Tina, you should just reverse the cartridge every month so that the water passes through in the opposite direction until the next month, when you reverse it again.

Does that clarify things?

When you back flush the shower filter you mention to remove the filter and put it back into the casing facing the opposite direction it once was.

Does that mean we keep it in for a month facing the opposite direction, or do we just run about 10 minutes worth of water through it to flush it and then face the filter back in it's original direction?
